The Burren & Cliffs of Moher One of Ireland’s most famous sights
The Burren & Cliffs of Moher region has achieved UNESCO-supported Global Geopark Status in recognition of the region’s significant geological, ecological and cultural value, as well as its sustainable tourism practices.
Standing at 250m, the Cliffs of Moher are some of the most dramatic cliffs in Europe. The area is home to many different species of wildlife including birds, dolphins and the occasional whale. The cliff-side walks have stunning views.
The Cliffs of Moher are entirely vertical, and the cliff edge is abrupt. On a clear day, the views are tremendous, with the Aran Islands etched on the waters of Galway Bay. From the cliff edge, you can just hear the booming far below as the waves crash and gnaw at the soft shale and sandstone. – Lonely Planet

The Aillwee Cave and Doolin Cave
Aillwee Cave is the perfect rainy-day activity. As well as bear pits, stalactites, and underground waterfalls, you can also visit the Birds of Prey Centre. And then treat yourself to some delicious local homemade organic cheeses, honey and fudge from the farm shop. https://www.aillweecave.ie/
Not one but two underground options for rainy days or even heat wave days! Visit Doolin Cave and experience Europe’s largest stalactites at www.doolincave.ie and you have to see the stunning Doolin Cave Pottery made from glacial cave clay which has been hand dug 120ft deep within Doolin Cave. This unique clay was formed during several different Ice Ages when vast glaciers covered Ireland making it millions of years old. A wonderful way to remember your trip to County Clare with a pottery mug for your morning cuppa!
