Location Description
Dunlavin is a picturesque village. We are 10 mins drive from hill walking in the Wicklow Mountains. Between 5-15 mins from Rathsallagh and Tulfarris golf clubs and 20 mins from Blessington and outdoor pursuits in the Avon Rí. There is also an outdoor pursuit centre and river swimming in Baltinglass. Its 35 mins to Glendalough and 25 to the National Stud and Japanese Gardens. Dublin is an hour away and the nearest beaches are 1-1.5 hours in Wexford, Waterford and east Wicklow. Horse-racing is in easy distance in Punchestown and Naas with Greyhound racing in Newbridge.
Food wise we have an excellent butcher's in the village, a few takeaways and two cafes, one of which also sells a huge range of vegan and organic foods. Another cafe opens on a Friday and Saturday and has excellent bread. There are also two general shops, a post office and a pharmacy. There are many good restaurants and cafes in Hollywood, Ballymore Eustace, Kilcullen and the bigger towns. The pizza bus in the Avon Rí is a favourite.
